Wow! I see that I have not posted since Bryan's birthday in JUNE! And here it is August! The day before my student-teaching begins...so I better get something posted or I am afraid it might be another month before I blog!
So our "big" trip this summer was to Alambama to visit Grandma Doris. We had sooo much fun! The trip started on July 16 at 9pm...Bryan and Michel wanted to drive at night to see if traveling would be better with 2 little girls that way. We have decided that it was MUCH better during the day...NO attack from killer mosquitos and the girls were great on the trip back.
Once we got to Alabama, the "guys" had to cut some trees that had fallen in Grandma D's front yard (or forest, I should say..) and Bryan got attacked by some buggys there (he had to go to the doc after we got home and get some antibiotics to get rid of his bites.) They also had to clean out Grandma's creek. But in between those projects we went shopping, at some great BBQ at Williams, visited with family, and went to the Birmingham Zoo (one of THE best places on earth--from an animal lover's point of view.)
The Birmingham Zoo also had a great children's area with a waterpark type area. The girls LOVED it and did NOT want to end our afternoon having fun there.
The girls were soooo tired from the fun-filled day they fell asleep before we got out of the parking lot!
We also went to the Cook's Science Museum. It is a small museum but is packed with really neat things. Bailey took Aunt Mona (Michel's sister) around 4 times to show her everything she liked. Her favorite was the alligator amazingly...she was terrified of it the first time she saw it...
We had loads of fun hanging out at Grandma's house and "exploring" her front yard/forest...
Yes, Avery tried to climb that little tree. It was too funny!
We had a great time at Grandma's and hope we can go back soon!!
Stay tuned for more about our little "princesses!"...Avery JUST got a "big girl" bed in her room yesterday (twin size matterss/box springs on the floor with safety guardrails around top part and is doing really well in it. She did not get out of bed once last night! We are sooo proud! She knows how to turn around and climb down. (I will add pics once I get them on the computer!)
Also, I wil post about our bookshelf-building project...it's coming along and will be finished soon (have to finish staining the shelves to put up.)
